A six -month ceasefire was announced by the Maoists for peace talks. Meanwhile, Congress leader and Marudbaka Society Director Naga Bhandari father Urara Bhandari has been killed in the night with an ax in Lingapur of Usur police station area.
Naga was a resident of Marudbaka village, but was living in Usur for many years due to fear of Maoists. Seven months before now, Maoists Naga’s brother Tirupati Bhandari was also killed.
Naga Bhandari went to Lingapur to attend the social program. Late at around 11.30 pm, Maoists reached the village in plain clothes and escaped after killing Naga. On Monday morning, the police party left for the spot on the information.
He was killed for some work. From there he went to Lingapur. Then the Naxalites got a chance and killed Naga with a sharp weapon. It is reported that about six months ago, Naga Bhandari’s younger brother Tirupati Bhandari was murdered by Naxalites near the society in Usur. Both brothers have been associated with the Congress party. Naga also contested the sarpanch election in the last panchayat elections.
