Sudden cyber attacks have increased on the system of State Load Dispatch Center, which ensure power supply from the headquarters of the power company of Madhya Pradesh to the state. This has happened after increasing tension between India and Pakistan. Every day an attempt has been made to cyber attacks one hundred to one hundred and fifty times.
However, firewalls for security are alerting by stopping every attack. Electricity company officials are monitoring every attack and are sending information to other investigating agencies including computer emergency response team. Explain that the State Load Dispatch Center does the work of management of electricity supply to distribution companies through the grid in the state.
Security arrangements are made to avoid attack
The company has made security arrangements to avoid cyber attacks. Many types of firewalls have been installed, so that no one can enter the unwanted bug server. It is operated automatically. Sudden attacks have increased after tension between India and Pakistan.
Officials said that earlier where there were two-four cyber attacks, their number has increased wildly for the last three-four days. If the cyber attack is successful in the system of the State Load Dispatch Center, it will be difficult to supply electricity to the distribution companies through the grid.
In this regard, Superintendent Engineer Rajesh Gupta of State Load Dispatch Center said that the company has made all security arrangements. We are currently safe from all kinds of cyber attacks. Earlier, there have been efforts for cyber attack at the State Load Dispatch Center, which the company’s experts have failed.
There were attacks from foreign IP address
The State Load Dispatch Center of Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company continuously takes place cyber attacks, due to which the company management uses excessive firewalls. Recently, cyber attacks took place with China and other foreign IP addresses.
The IP addresses of the cyber attacks currently being held are given to the investigating agency. The power company is constantly contacting with the central agency and is sharing every information with them.
Energy Minister had given instructions for vigilance
Madhya Pradesh Energy Minister Pradum Singh Tomar also instructed the officials of the power company in Bhopal to be vigilant about cyber security two days ago. Guidelines in this regard were also received from the central agency. He has clearly told the officials not to react to unfamiliar and unknown bugs.
