Under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, water Ganga enrichment campaign is being run in the state. This campaign was started by Chief Minister Dr. Yadav from Ujjain, the city of Baba Mahakal. Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri Prahlad Singh Patel is visiting the origin of rivers in the state for the conservation of water collections in the state. The campaign is moving towards fulfilling its goals at a rapid pace. The Panchayat and Rural Development Department had targeted the construction of 1 thousand Amrit Sarovars in the state under the MNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act). In the 41 days of the campaign, the work of constructing 1012 Amrit Sarovars in the state has also been started in the state.
In the campaign, coupe recharge pit, stepwell, farm-pond, Amrit lake, sack bond, check dams are being done. Along with this, cleaning of old water sources, water streams of rivers are being done for alive, water conservation structures such as Gabian structure, contour trench are being done.
Amrit lakes will increase ground water level
The ground water level of the state will increase with a large number of Amrit Sarovar in the state. This will relieve the problem of water crisis. In summer, the water level of wells, hand pumps and tuvbels will not be low. Also, rural livelihood means will also increase. Water of lakes can be used in other activities including irrigation along with irrigation.
Jal Ganga Promotion Campaign
The main objective of the water Ganga enhancement campaign is to save rain water and to groan the old water sources. In the campaign being run by the state government, there will be improvement at the ground water level in the state. The water level of wells, tube wells will increase. Along with this, farmers will also get sufficient amount of water for irrigation of crops.
Campaign will continue till June 30
The water Ganga enrichment campaign in the state will run for three months. The state -wide campaign has been started by the state government from 30 March, which will be operated by 30 June 2025.
