US President Donald Trump has made a big claim amid the ongoing tension in India and Pakistan. He has said that India and Pakistan have immediately agreed to the ceasefire. In a post on Truth Social, Trump said, “After a long night conversation in America’s mediation, I am happy to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to complete and immediate ceasefire. Congratulations to both countries for using common sense and great intelligence.”

However, sources in the Government of India said that there was a direct talks between the two countries to stop firing and military action between India and Pakistan. This afternoon Pak DGMO took the initiative to negotiate, after which there was a discussion and agreed. There has been no decision to negotiate at any other place on any other issue.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that in the last 48 hours, I have interacted with senior Indian and Pakistani officials including Vice-President Vance and I have interacted with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Army Chief Aseem Munir and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Aseem Malik. I am happy to declare that the governments of India and Pakistan have immediately agreed to start negotiations on widespread issues at the ceasefire and neutral site. We appreciate Prime Minister Modi and Sharif’s intelligence, conscience in choosing the path of peace.
Apart from Trump, Pakistan Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar have also claimed to have agreed between India and Pakistan on a ceasefire. He posted on X, “Pakistan and India have agreed to the ceasefire with immediate effect. Pakistan has always tried for peace and security in the region without compromising sovereignty and regional integrity.”
