The BCCI suspended IPL 2025 for a week, after Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), they have confirmed that they are starting ticket withdrawal process for their domestic matches against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). In view of the increasing tension between India and Pakistan, BCCI has decided to postpone IPL for a week.
LSG, ranked seventh place, was to host RCB in second place in the match to be held at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Friday evening, while SRH, who was in eighth place, was to host KKR in sixth place in the match at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday. But both matches will not be held on time due to the seven -day suspension of the tournament due to cross -border tension between India and Pakistan.
SRH wrote on his ‘X’ account, “In view of the current situation, the iPL2025 has been suspended with immediate effect. Information about ticket return will be given soon. On the other hand, LSG wrote on its Instagram account, ‘The match to be held at Ekana Cricket Stadium tonight has been canceled. Details about ticket return will be given later.
On Thursday night, it was decided to stop IPL 2025 for a week after cross -border tension on the border, causing blackouts in Jammu, Udhampur and Pathankot as air and drone attacks were carried out by Pakistan. However, India responded to this and neutralized all airstrikes. Due to this, the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals at HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala, about 80 km from Pathankot, was canceled after the completion of just 10.1 overs of the first innings.
Due to the closure of the airport in Dharamshala and other North Indian cities, it became a major challenge for BCCI to take out all stakeholders safely from the hill station. As a result, players of both PBKS and DC and members of the associate staff, as well as match officials, commentators, broadcasting team members and other key personnel associated with IPL were taken from Dharamshala to Jalandhar by bus on Friday morning, where a special train was organized to take him to New Delhi. So far, IPL 2025 has completed 58 games with 12 matches to be played in the league phase and there will be playoff matches.
