In view of the increasing tension between India and Pakistan, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has taken an important decision. In the interest of national security, all OTT platforms, media streaming services and intermediates running in India have been instructed to close web-series, movies, songs, podcasts and other streaming media content with immediate effect. This order applies to all those content, whether they are subscription -based or available for free.
This move of the ministry is being seen towards reducing tension in the current situation and strengthening the security of the country. The government has clarified that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the sovereignty of the country and the safety of citizens. All concerned platforms have been asked to strictly follow this order.
