CBI director Praveen Sood’s tenure extended by one year, central government’s big decision


CBI: Ujjwal Pradesh, New Delhi. The tenure of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Director Praveen Sood has been extended by the Central Government for one year. This expansion will be effective from May 24, 2025, when his current term was ending. The official notification in this regard was issued on Wednesday. Praveen Sood was appointed as the head of the country’s top investigative agency in May 2023, before which he has been the DGP of Karnataka and has the image of a strict, honest and strict officer. The decision to extend the tenure was taken by a high -level committee, which included Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and representatives of the Chief Justice of India.
