In 89 tribal blocks of Madhya Pradesh, the government is preparing to give pension to patients of sickle cell. On the orders of the government, the officers have started preparations to start the scheme at the local level. Preparations have been started to make a disabled card of sickle cell disease i.e. positive patients by setting up special camps in tribal blocks. The government has sent a letter to the district of tribal blocks and sought information from the Health Department and Social Justice Department.
Divyang cards will be made
It has been said that how many sickle cell patients are included in the Divyang card stripes. CMHO Dr. OP Jugatwat is taking a list from the district medical officers and calling positive patients by calling whether the benefit of pension is being received or not. CMHO informed that all sickle cell patients will be made disabled cards.
The government will give pension to everyone from the Department of Social Justice. Both departments have started the process of preparing documents of sickle cell patients. 2.85 lakh suspects were screened in the district. 398 sickle cell positive patients have been found. All are undergoing treatment.
Everyone’s disabled cards will be made. Some of these Divyang cards have been issued. So far, 3549 patients have found partial symptoms of sickle cell during screening. They have been recorded in the career. Divyang cards of disease positive patients will be made in the initial phase. Dr. Anirudh Kaushal, Civil Surgeon says that all the sickle cell patients identified on the guideline will be made a disabled card from the medical board. This will eligible for pension. Special camps in rural areas will be set up to make a disabled card.
What is sickle cell disease
Sickle cell disease is a genetic blood disorder in which red blood cells lose their normal round shape and take a semicircular shape. This hinders oxygen transport and consists of various complications, including pain, anemia and infection.
