The Naval Officer Lieutenant Vinay Narwal (WIFE) Himanshi Narwal, who was martyred in the terrorist attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, has faced trolling (forlled) on social media.
In fact, Himanshi had appealed to the countrymen not to spread hatred towards Muslims and Kashmiris, after which some people objected to their remarks and targeted them. In this case, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has condemned trolling and termed it as “unacceptable”.
The National Commission for Women has said that it is not right for a woman to be trolled on the basis of her ideological expression or personal life. Himanshi said on Thursday, “We do not want people to follow Muslims and Kashmiris.” Himanshi was ‘trolled’ on social media forums after his statement.
In a statement issued on ‘X’, NCW condemned Himanshi to be trolled. Citing a widespread criticism of Himanshi’s comments on social media, NCW wrote, “After the death of Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, the way his wife Himanshi Narwal is being criticized on social media regarding one of his statements, it is unfortunate.” The Commission admitted that even though his comments have not been liked by many people, the constitutional boundaries ‘but the democracy’ One should stay within the purview of dignity.
Vinay was on honeymoon just six days after marriage
On 22 April, 26 people were killed in a terrorist attack in Besaran Valley in Pahalgam, mostly tourists. 26 -year -old Navy officer Lt Vinay Narwal was also martyred in this attack. Vinay and his wife Himanshi reached Pahalgam for a honeymoon just six days after their marriage. She was married on 16 April in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand. Vinay was shot by the terrorists by asking his religious identity. In the pictures of this attack, Himanshi’s picture of Himanshi sitting near her husband’s body went viral across the country, which made people emotional.
Himanshi’s appeal for peace
After the attack, Himanshi in his first public remarks appealed to the country for peace and unity. He said, “I want the whole country to pray for my husband so that his soul is peaceful. Along with this I also want people to not spread hatred against Muslims or Kashmiris. We want peace, only peace.” He made this statement during a blood donation camp held in Karnal on 1 May, which was held on the occasion of Vinay’s birth anniversary.
Himanshi also said that she wants the culprits of this attack to be punished, but it is not right to spread hatred against a particular community. Some people took this statement wrongly and started criticizing him on social media. Some trolls commented on his personal life. Now the National Commission for Women reacted sharply to the trolling of Himanshi.
