Anti -India act of Khalistani supporters has once again come to the fore in Canada. A controversial parade was organized by Khalistani supporters on Sunday at Malton Gurdwara in Toronto, showcasing anti -India and anti -Hindu sentiments. In this parade, a cage was placed on a large truck, in which India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and External Affairs Minister S.K. Jaishankar’s effigies were closed. During the parade, Khalistani supporters demanded to send 8 lakh Hindus living in Canada to India.
The incident took place at a time when the new Canadian Prime Minister Mark Karney has recently won elections and has said to improve India-Canada relations. However, this parade has raised questions on the commitment to deal with Khalistani extremism under his leadership. Canadian journalist Daniel Boardman shared a video of this parade, saying, “Jihadi is making frenzy on our streets, but Khalistani is giving a tough fight to spread hatred to them.”
He asked whether Mark Carney’s Canada would be different from Justin Trudeau’s Canada? The leaders of the Hindu community in Canada have strongly condemned the parade. The Hindu Canadian Foundation (HCF) said that this parade is a clear example of anti -Hindu hatred and is against the principles of religious tolerance in Canada.
