Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw today suddenly reached Abhanpur to surprise the Raipur-Visakhapatnam Expressway under construction, where he inspected the overbridge and road under construction. During this, officials of Bharat Mala Project and Public Works Department were present.

Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw first inspected the overbridge work under construction in Abhanpur. Took information about the quality of construction from the officials present on the spot. Also said to complete the work within the stipulated time period. During this, the officials gave complete information about the expressway project work.

Deputy CM Arun Saw Bridge reached the village panchayat Bhelwadih after inspection, where he questioned the road construction. During this time, the officials got information about the quality of the material being used in road construction. Officials said that all the standards have been taken care of in the construction.

Deputy Chief Minister Saw said after inspection that this is a revolutionary project of the Government of India, the people of the state will get the benefit. After this highway is built, there will be no long distance to go to Visakhapatnam. It will also prove to be important as an economic corridor.

It is worth noting that most of the 464 km long 6 -lane expressway from Raipur to Visakhapatnam has been completed. Through this expressway, you will be able to reach Andhra Pradesh via Chhattisgarh via Odisha. It will connect Raipur to Dhamtari, Kanker, Kondagaon, Koraput and Sabbavaram. This expressway will end at Visakhapatnam port. It is being constructed under the Bharatmala Project.

Compensation scam in Bharatmala project
Under the Bharatmala Project in Chhattisgarh, 950 km of road is being constructed from the capital Raipur to Visakhapatnam. In this project, it is proposed to construct fourlane road from Raipur to Visakhapatnam and Sixlane road from Durg to Arang. The government has acquired the land of many farmers for the construction of this road. In lieu of this, they have to be compensated, but many farmers still have not received compensation. On the second day of the Assembly Budget Session 2025, the issue was raised by Leader of Opposition Charan Das Mahanta, after which the investigation was decided in this matter.

What is the Land Acquisition Rules?
Under the Land Acquisition Rules 2013, if the land worth 5 lakh is taken from the beneficiary, then apart from that price, the same amount i.e. 5 lakh rupees will also be given in the form of soles. In this way, compensation of that land will be given 10 lakhs. Under this, if the land of 5 lakhs is acquired, then it will get 10 lakh rupees and 10 lakh rupees will be solesium. In this way, the beneficiary will get 20 lakh rupees of the same land.
