While Tom Cruz is in the discussion about his upcoming film ‘Mission: Emposible – The Final Recking’, his ‘Top Gun: Maveral’ makers are caught in legal troubles. The case has been registered against the American Film Production and Disasterbutions Company Paramount Pictures. The lawsuit was filed by Sean Gray, cousin of the film’s script writer Eric Singer. He has alleged that he played an important role in creating the most exciting scenes of this blockbuster sequel, but still he neither received its credit nor compensation.
According to the ‘People’s Magazine’ report, in his petition, Sean Gray claimed that he worked for five months on a screenplay with Eric Singer and Director Joseph Kosinski. Not only this, he has written some of the most important scenes of the film, which later became the most memorable action sequence of ‘Top Gun 2’. Because of these scenes, the film became such a big hit. But they did not get its credit.
Files and emails as evidence with petition
The legal claim further states, “Sean Gray has very careful, files and emails, which show his writing in these scenes of the film and his contribution to the script.”
Sean Gray has asked for damages
In his petition, Sean Gray described himself as a skilled script writer. At the same time, he has argued that he was ‘tricked and exploited by the big and powerful people of Hollywood’. Shaun Gray has pleaded for justice from the court as well as compensation, as the makers misused their creativity and made a lot of profit from it.
A case was also filed on ‘Top Gun: Maveric’ earlier
However, this is not the first legal dispute of Paramount about Tom Cruise’s ‘Top Gun: Maveral’. The studio was first filed by Shosh and Yuval Vonay, who is a relative of the late Ehu Vonay. Based on his 1983 article, the first ‘Top Gun’ film was made. Ahu Vonay argued that Paramount completed the sequel film in 2022 without copyright. It is a violation of copyright act and rights. The matter was also handled by a lawyer Mark Toberoff, a lawyer fighting the case on behalf of Sean Gray. The court dismissed the trial last year, after which an appeal has been filed.
Paramount said- allegations baseless, this case will also be dismissed
Now ‘Paramount’ has also reacted to this new claim and case of Sean Gray. The production company has dismissed the claims and described it as baseless. On behalf of the makers, it has been said, ‘This lawsuit is trying to take advantage of the success of’ Top Gun: Maveral ‘. Advocate Toberof has also filed such cases before. We are confident that this claim will also be rejected in court.
