After the Pahalgam terror attack, many tourist places in Jammu and Kashmir (Jammu Kashmir) have been closed for the current time. According to the information, the Jammu and Kashmir government has taken this decision on the recommendation of security agencies. Due to intelligence warnings about the possibility of terrorist attacks, 48 out of 87 tourist places have been closed in Kashmir. According to sources, some sleeper cells in the valley have become active after the Pahalgam attack, they have been instructed to start activity.
After the Pahalgam attack, there are constant intelligence warnings about the TRT’s attempt to carry out a major attack along with some targeted murders to avenge the homes of terrorists active in the valley. Security forces have deployed anti -fidayeen squads from the special ops group of police at many sensitive tourist destinations including Gulmarg, Sonamarg and Lake areas. Security has also been increased in general after a terrorist incident in the valley.

This attack can affect all the sectors of Kashmir. Especially more impact on tourism may appear. There can be the faith of investors who intend to open hotels, company and do business of fruits. After this, the economic progress of Kashmir, which has been stable back after years of hard work, can derail. Not only this, there may be a profound effect on the income of the people of Kashmir.
Kashmir’s economy has been strong so far
The economic progress of Jammu and Kashmir has been strong. Its real GSDP for 2024-25 is estimated to be increased at a rate of 7.06%, while nominal GSDP is estimated to be ₹ 2.65 lakh crore, which is a sign of continuous progress. Between 2019 and 2025, the Union Territory recorded a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.89%, while per capita income (per capita income) was expected to reach ₹ 1,54,703 in FY 25, which is 10.6% more year-after-year.
This magnificent progress is not the same, but the number of terrorist incidents in 2018 came down from 228 to just 46 in 2023, which is a decline of 99%. This was still the advantage of peace, which draws the attention of investment, tourism towards Kashmir.
