Islamabad
Amid the increasing tension between India and Pakistan, Pakistan has taken a big step and sent 23 Indian citizens working during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10. The decision has been taken after a recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, killing 26 Indian tourists. A spokesman for the Pakistan Police said that these 23 Indians involved in the PSL broadcasting team were sent to India from Lahore to India. This action was taken on the orders of the Government of Pakistan. According to Pakistani media reports, these Indians were sent directly to India without any other action.
Boundaries closed, visa facilities also canceled
India had announced the closure of the Attari-Wagah border after the Pahalgam attack. Along with this, India has also canceled the SAARC Visa Rebate Scheme (Sves) for the citizens of Pakistan, so that Pakistani citizens will no longer be able to come to India without special permission. Pakistan has also taken retaliation and announced the closure of the Wagah border with immediate effect. Pakistan has said that every type of cross-border traffic coming from India will be completely suspended. Only valid permits holders have been allowed to return. At the same time, Pakistan has canceled all visas issued under the SAARC visa exemption for Indian citizens, although Sikh pilgrims have been temporarily exempted.
Serious allegations against India
Pakistan’s National Security Committee accused India of using incidents like Pahalgam to help “narrow political interests”. The committee said that India’s “anti -anti -attitude” is threatening peace and stability in the region. Pakistan also targeted the Indian media, saying that “Indian state controlled war -oriented media” is promoting regional instability, which India should be self -conscious about.
Signs of increasing tension
It is clear that the strict steps taken by India after the Pahalgam attack are in a furore in Pakistan. All are part of this reaction to expel Indian employees from PSL, close boundaries and cancel visa facilities. There is a lot of tension in diplomatic relations between the two countries at this time and global concern about regional stability is also deepening.
