Former Indian captain and former BCCI Chairman Sourav Ganguly said that India should break all cricket relations with Pakistan over the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam. For more than a decade, India and Pakistan matches only in ICC events or Asia Cups, including the T20 World Cup, ODI World Cup and Champions Trophy, besides the Asia Cup. However, Sourav Ganguly wants India not to play against Pakistan.
Talking to ANI, Sourav Ganguly said, “100 percent, this should be done (to break a relationship with Pakistan). Strict action is necessary. It is not a joke. Such things happen every year. Terrorism cannot be tolerated.” India has not visited Pakistan since 2008 due to tense political relations between the two countries. The last time India took part in the Asia Cup in Pakistan. However, the last time bilateral series was played between the two countries in 2012-13.
During the recently held ICC Champions Trophy, India did not visit Pakistan; Instead, he played all his matches in Dubai under the hybrid model. Apart from this, Jai Shah, president of the International Cricket Council, is a decision on the hybrid model for all ICC events in the 2024-27 cycle, which will be held in India or Pakistan. 26 people were killed by the Pakistan -based terrorists in Pahalgam.
