An inspirational and pleasant news has come out from Nawa Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. The Nava Raipur Atal Municipal Development Authority, earlier known as NRDA, has now been completely debt -ridden. The authority has paid all the debt of Rs 1788 crore, which was taken from the Government of India and several nationalized banks. Also, a government guarantee of Rs 100 crore has also been returned to the state government. The credit for this achievement goes to the policies, financial discipline and transparent administration of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai. This step will be helpful in infrastructure development and implementation of new projects to Nawa Raipur.
A large -scale debt was taken for the development of the modern and planned capital of Nawa Raipur, Chhattisgarh. This debt was for land acquisition, roads, government buildings and educational institutions like Hidayatullah University. However, debt burden and interest payment affected the authority’s cash flow. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, the Government of Chhattisgarh, while emphasizing on financial self -reliance, implemented policies that increased the income of the authority and paved the way to get rid of debt.
Expressing happiness over this achievement, the Chief Minister said that the debt -ridden of Nava Raipur Atal Nagar is a pleasant sign. Through financial discipline, transparency and strategic planning, our government ensured that the authority is not only free from debt, but also became self -sufficient and touched new heights of development. This achievement shows our commitment to make Nawa Raipur a modern, employment -oriented and facilitated city.
The policies of the Government of Chhattisgarh promoted commercial use of the authority’s assets. Projects such as Medicity, Pharmaceutical Park, Bhoomi Pujan of the country’s renowned polymetake company’s semiconductor plant and initiative to establish the National Institute of Fashion Technology attracted private investment. The Government of Chhattisgarh strengthened the sources of income by the Government of Chhattisgarh in the third supplementary budget of the year 2024-25 for the Nawa Raipur Atal Municipal Development Authority and the allocation of additional funds for the industrial areas. In addition, Chhattisgarh outstanding outstanding (Amendment) Ordinance-2025, relief to traders promoted economic activities, which has given indirect benefits to the Nawa Raipur Development Authority.
With the debt liberation, all the properties of the authority are now free from bondage, which will make them easier to use and buy and sell. Finance Minister OP Chaudhary says that Nawa Raipur is going to become a new growth engine of Chhattisgarh’s economy. Today, many institutions like RBI, NABARD and other banks of NTPC, Balco Cancer Hospital, Sathya Sai Hospital have been made in Nawa Raipur. Nawa Raipur is also emerging as a big center in the IT area. Now semiconductor, data center related industries are also going to be set up here. There is a plan to develop medical in about 100 acres to provide national and international level medical facilities in Nawa Raipur.
It is worth noting that in the budget of 2025-26, the Government of Chhattisgarh has also made a budget provision to develop added in about 100 acres. It is the third largest international cricket stadium in the country. In view of the increasing development of Nawa Raipur, a provision of 40 crores has been made for upgradation, operation and maintenance of integrated command and control center. A provision has been made of 20 crores for developed India Iconic Destination, 10 crore for e-Base Services, 20 Crore for Sewerage Treatment Plant, 37 crore for establishment of Science City and 20 crores for the construction of library. The construction of a commercial office complex is provided at a cost of 156 crores to develop plug and play office space. In CBD Commercial Tower, the space has been allotted for 2000 IT employment to Tele Performance, Square Business, CSM companies. There is also a budget provision for the establishment of SDM and Naveen Tehsil Office in Nawa Raipur.
