Said Chhattisgarh’s new policy in the country in the field of textile

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai stressed on the possibility of investing in the state and apparel sector by participating in the CMAI Fab Show 2025 held at the Bombay Exhibition Center in Mumbai today. On this occasion, the Chief Minister interacted with investors and industrialists associated with the textile sector and invited them to invest in Chhattisgarh and said, “We have opened new doors of investment in the textile industry sector.” On this occasion, the Government of Chhattisgarh has also signed an MoU with CMAI (Cloding Manufacturer Association of India). Along with this, Chhattisgarh has taken a step towards becoming an emerging center in textile, garment and handloom sector.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai while addressing the industrialists said that recently we have approved the opening of the Institute of National Institute of Fashion Design in the cabinet in Nawa Raipur. This institute to be prepared at a cost of Rs 271 crore will boost the textile industry in Chhattisgarh. He said that Champa Kosa saris in Chhattisgarh are unmatched in their crafts. The establishment of MoU and NIFT from CMAI will help in branding, promotion of clothes like Champa Kosa.

He said that the textile industry is directly related to rural self -employment, technology and skill development. In the new industrial policy, we have tried to promote MSMEs associated with the textile sector, taking care of all these facilities. We are giving special grants to enterprises providing employment to more than 1000 local people. In the investment of 100 crores, 252 crore is being reimbursed by our government. There is no such good policy in the country in any state in the field of textile. Its benefits are available to small and medium enterprises associated with the textile industry. He informed that special concessions have been given for starting enterprises in areas like Bastar and Surguja.

He said that due to the policies of single window system, is of doing business and speed of doing business, very fast investment proposals are being approved. With the Ease of Doing Business, we have now moved towards speed and business. We have done more than 350 reforms and have made the investment environment extremely comfortable.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai also visited the stall of Chhattisgarh and took information. He informed that efforts are also being made to connect our traditional handicrafts to the textile industry.

The program was attended by Chief Secretary of Chhattisgarh Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Subodh Singh, Secretary Rahul Bhagat, Secretary of Industries Department Rajat Kumar, Director Prabhat Malik, CSIDC Managing Director Abhishek Aggarwal and many senior officials attended.

Central India location, better connectivity

The Chief Minister said that our location of Central India provides you the best connectivity across the country. Cargo facility has started in Raipur Airport from this year. We are working on many important railway projects worth Rs 48 thousand crore. The industry will get the most benefit of expansion of railway networks. The expressway from Raipur to Visakhapatnam is being constructed rapidly. Our direct connectivity from ports like Visakhapatnam will give great expansion to business in Raipur.

Trained youths ready for textile industry

The Chief Minister said that the textile industry also needs skilled manpower. Advance courses based on technology and innovation are being provided in the state’s ITI. Due to this, trained youth are also getting ready for the textile industry. We have institutions like IITs, IIMs, Triple IT and National Law University, which are available for the Human Resource Industry.
