The Central Government has started several initiatives with the aim of making the country’s roads safe. As part of these efforts, the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers and Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan organized ‘SIM-KVS Road Safety Online Education Program’ with the aim of making school children aware of road safety. The road safety learning module ‘safe journey’ was launched under this special program held on Tuesday at Kendriya Vidyalaya 2, New Delhi Cantt in the national capital. The program was part of the program Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Addressing the children here, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said, “The time to come is of hydrogen. We have to become a country to import energy. Many efforts are being made by the Central Government to reduce pollution and road accidents in the country’s capital. There is a need to show social responsibility and social awareness by children like you to deal with both these issues.”
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who was involved in the program, said that road safety is an important issue in the country, in view of which NCERT is making a new curriculum and text book in the country. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and the Ministry of Education are increasing their responsibility and role to spread awareness about road safety. In the coming time, the course material will be prepared for road safety for students from first to 12th standard.
The Union Education Minister further said, “As our Prime Minister Narendra Modi believes that road safety is very important and it will have to be converted into a mass movement. We are working according to his vision.” In this program, Prashant, Executive Director of Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). Banerjee also attended. He said that road safety remains a big problem in the development of the country and to eliminate this problem, a genetic change will be required.
