Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav took part in the Jal Ganga Promotion Campaign at the holy Ramghat on Monday. During this time, he took a dip in the Shipra river and gave the message of service and environmental protection by cleaning the ghat. CM Yadav said that there has been an old tradition of Panchkoshi Parikrama on the banks of the Shipra River. Every year thousands of people come here and revolve around.

Cleanliness will be taken care of at the ghat

During the program, the Chief Minister participated in the cleaning of the ghat and he himself was seen removing the waste lying on the ghat. He said that when devotees take bath here at the beginning of Panchkoshi Parikrama, special care will be taken for cleanliness and purity of water at the ghat. Especially it is necessary to clean the dirt that freezes inside the river.

29 km of new ghats will be ready

CM said that 29 km of new ghats will be prepared from Sidhnath to Triveni. There are already 6 km ghats. In this way, 35 km ghats will be available to the devotees coming to Kumbh. Every ghat in Kumbh will be Ramghat. Devotees take bath anywhere, they will get equal virtue. This time we are going to build waterways in Kumbh. People will be able to travel from Shani temple from Ramghat, Gaughat to Lalpur, Mangal Nath to Ramghat.

At the beginning of this circumambulation, when devotees take bath here, special care will be taken for cleanliness and purity of water at the ghat. Especially it is necessary to clean the dirt that freezes inside the river.

While discussing with the media, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will start ‘Jal Ganga Promotion Abhiyan’ from March 30 (Gudi Padwa) and run till June 30. Its purpose is to conserve the rivers and other water sources of the state. The Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh is actually a maternal uncle of rivers. He emphasized that despite having no glaciers in the state, adequate water is available here due to geographical and forest wealth as well as public participation. Referring to major rivers like Narmada, Ken-Betwa, Chambal and Son, he said that they are not only for Madhya Pradesh but also for neighboring states.

Dr. Yadav said that the total water of Madhya Pradesh is no less than the water sources of the Himalayas in any way. He stressed the need to increase proper maintenance of water sources, increase ground water storage capacity and increase awareness about water. Reiterating the call of the Prime Minister’s ‘Jal Hi Jeevan Hai’, he said that the state government is constantly making efforts to conserve water through the revival of Amrit Sarovar, Khet Pond and old water structures.
