State level strike of Panchayat Secretaries postponed after discussion with Deputy CM Sharma

Raipur

The Panchayat Secretaries, who have been on strike for the last 32 days, have now decided to postpone their state level strike to demand governmentization and increment. Komal Nishad, executive president of Chhattisgarh Panchayat Secretary Association, said that this decision has been taken after a conversation with Panchayat Minister Vijay Sharma.

Let me tell you, for 32 days, the Panchayat Secretary was sitting on a dharna in all the district headquarters of the state. Along with this, preparations were also made to perform at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on 28 April. However, after positive talks with the government, the movement has been stopped at the moment.

It has been told that the Committee constituted by the Panchayat and Rural Development Department will present its final report by 2026, on the basis of which the Panchayat Secretaries will be governmentalized. Apart from this, a new guide for medical expenditure reimbursement will also be released soon.

The government has also assured that currently the discrepancies related to the salary verification of the secretaries who have completed 15 years of service will be removed and stalled salary will also be approved soon during the period of movement.

After four days of discussion, the Panchayat Secretaries have decided to end the strike, considering this consent as a partial victory of the struggle.
