Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday described Maharana Pratap and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as the national hero. While giving advice to those who consider Aurangzeb as their ideal, the Defense Minister said that those who feel that Aurangzeb was a hero should read the book of the first Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru, who wrote in his book that Mughal emperor Aurangzeb was a cruel and radical ruler.
The Defense Minister, who arrived in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra to unveil the statue of Mewar ruler Maharana Pratap, said that Maharana Pratap was a symbol of incredible courage and patriotism. He directly challenged the Mughal Emperor Akbar to protect his self -respect and his earth.
Left historians did not give proper credit to Hindu rulers
The senior BJP leader claimed that after independence, Left historians not only gave proper credit to both Maharana Pratap and Chhatrapati Shivaji, but glorified cruel rulers like Aurangzeb. Such a cruel and radical person cannot be a hero. He said that Aurangzeb’s brother Dara Shikoh was a religious person. He translated the Upanishads and Aurangzeb killed him for power.
Talking about Maharana Pratap and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the Union Defense Minister said, “Apart from his bravery, Maharana Pratap had united all sections of the society. His army included tribals and Muslims. Hakim Khan Suri had sacrificed his life while fighting for Rana Pratap in Haldighati, while a Muslim youth was a part of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.”
The BJP leader said that both Rana Pratap and Shivaji Maharaj were not anti -Muslim. Nor was he a cutter about any religion. He used to respect everyone. The Defense Minister said, “Today it is our moral duty to tell the youth of the country that Maharana Pratap and Chhatrapati Shivaji are not limited to the books of history, but are living sources of inspiration.” He said that no one will get Muslim votes by glorifying Babur, Taimur, Aurangzeb, Gauri, Ghaznavi. Those who praise these people insult Indian Muslims. All Indians are equal for BJP and they do not discriminate against anyone. He said, “We have learned it from our ancestors.”
