Violence continues against Hindus in Bangladesh
Mohammad Yunus’s government has failed to prevent incidents of violence against the Hindu community in Bangladesh. The Dhaka -based human rights organization Ain O Salish Center (ASK) reported in its report last month that there are reports of a total of 147 incidents of sabotage in Hindu community houses, temples and commercial establishments across Bangladesh. About 408 houses were vandalized in these incidents, including 36 arson cases. In September 2024, the country’s leading Bengali daily first Aloo said that after the collapse of the Awami League government, there have been several incidents of attacks on minority communities, especially Hindu community across the country. In many areas, there are still attacks on Hindus’ homes, business establishments and places of worship.
