Two cubs born in Kuno will go to Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary


In Madhya Pradesh, the second house of cheetahs i.e. Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary is going to be inhabited by cheetahs soon. The date of settling the cheetahs has been fixed here. In such a situation, it is believed that on 20 April, 2 cheetahs will be shifted from Koono in Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary. After Kuno National Park, the Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary will now become the second residence of cheetahs.

It is being told that the Cheetah Steering Committee has given its green signal for shifting of cheetahs. In this regard, the official announcement of shifting can be made after the meeting between Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Union Forest Minister Bhupendra Yadav on Thursday.

Kuno, Madhya Pradesh, currently has a total of 26 leopards. These include 12 adults and 14 cubs. Out of these, 6 adults and 11 cubs, ie a total of 17 leopards, are roaming freely in the open forest of Kuno National Park.

Forest department started preparations

After inspection of the delegations of Africa, Kenya and the Central Government’s seven -member Hypever Committee, it was finally decided that Gandhisagar was to be inhabited by the cheetahs born on the soil of India. The Forest Department has started preparations as soon as Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav is yes.

Two male cheetahs are being brought

Currently, two male cheetahs who were born in Kuno National Park are being brought here. He will be released here on 20 April. Its preparation was going on in Gandisagar Sanctuary a long time ago. DFO of Mandsaur Sanjay Raikher said that a big enclosure for cheetahs in 6400 hectares is ready. They also have eight Quarantine enclosures. Initially the cheetahs will be placed in Quantine enclosures.

The Gandhisagar Sanctuary was described as favorable

Explain that the seven -member Hypever Committee of the Central Government had given the Gandhasagar Sanctuary as fully favorable for cheetahs in the report submitted to the Forest Ministry in Delhi after inspection, then the central government has decided to send leopards from Koono here. Experts have seen all preparations including enclosures, Quarantine enclosures, highmast cameras, sites built for water source monitoring and treatment center.

Cheetah cannot hunt big animals

The cheetah cannot hunt large wild animals. In such a situation, the goal is to leave 1250 chital and deer for the food of cheetahs in the Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary area. So far, about 472 deer-chil have been left. Deer and chital are being captured here from places like Van Vihar, Narsinghgarh Century and Kanha Tiger Safari in Bhopal.
