Last year, 5 lakh 6 thousand 40 tonnes of wheat was purchased in the entire season. This time 5 lakh 29 thousand 482 tonnes have been purchased in just one month. In this way, Sehore has gone at the forefront of the state, while Ujjain is second with 4 lakh 68 thousand tonnes.
In this season, farmers are coming to sell wheat at a large number of support price. This time the weather was favorable. From crop sowing to harvesting, the rain supported. The weather was clear at the time of harvesting. This did not obstruct the drainage of the crop. Farmers are also getting payment of produce in 3 to 7 days. Also, Rs 175 per quintal bonus is also available. Apart from this, the price of wheat in the open market and market is low. Due to this, farmers are taking their produce to support price centers. At support centers, farmers are not taking the name of selling the produce.
Payment of Rs 820 crore in the district
The purchase started from March 15 this season. By April 15, 5 lakh 29 thousand tonnes of wheat has been purchased. The purchase last year started from March 20 and lasted till 31 May. This time it is to be purchased by 5 May. That is, a total of 51 days will be available. Despite this, 1.25 lakh to 1.50 lakh tonnes of wheat is expected to be purchased in the next 20 days. So far, 4 lakh 22 thousand tonnes of wheat has been purchased in the district. The farmers have been paid Rs 820 crore. 1376 crore has been purchased so far throughout the season. Out of this, 1203 crore EPOs have been generated. 1192 crore has reached the farmers’ accounts.
61 thousand 296 farmers sold their produce
This time 88 thousand 292 farmers have registered. Out of these, 61 thousand 296 farmers have sold their produce so far. 240 procurement centers have been set up in the district. In the beginning, purchases were started at 140 centers. This time the purchase started 5 days ago as compared to last year. This time the prices of wheat are low in the market. Mill quality wheat is being sold at a price of 200 to 300 rupees per quintal. While getting more prices on support price. Therefore, farmers are selling wheat at procurement centers instead of market. The payment system has also improved. Last year, payment was made in 10 to 15 days. This time, money is being received in 3 to 7 days. This is the reason that this time there is a record in the purchase.

In this regard, Akash Chandel of the District Food and Supplies Department said that the season is still at number one in the season in the purchase of wheat. So far this year, 5 lakh 29 thousand metric tons of wheat has been purchased.
