India Meteorological Department has given good news about this on Tuesday. IMD has said that this time there will be more rain than normal in the monsoon. This will provide relief to farmers and common people. IMD chief Mrityunjay Mahapatra said that the situation of El Nino will not be created throughout this entire monsoon season. India is expected to receive more than normal rainfall in four months of monsoon i.e. June to September.
This monsoon is expected to rain heavily
The Meteorological Department estimates that this time the rainfall figure will be 105 per cent of the long -term average of 87 cm. IMD Chief Mrityunjay Mahapatra said that the position of El Nino, which is associated with the lesser monsoon rains in the Indian subcontinent, is unlikely to be developed this time. This prediction from the Meteorological Department has come at a time when many parts of the country are struggling with scorching heat.
IMD gave good news about rain
In the monsoon, rain directly affects farming. Being a good monsoon is very important for the agricultural sector of India. Livelihood of about 42.3 percent of the population depends on this. It contributes 18.2 per cent to the country’s GDP (GDP). 52 percent of the country’s agricultural sector is irrigated by rain. It is also important for filling the reservoirs for drinking water and power generation across the country.
Know when there will be an entry of monsoon
However, normal rains do not mean that there will be the same rain everywhere and all the time in the country. According to the Meteorological Department, rain is changing due to climate change. Climate scientists say that the number of rain days is decreasing. But the incidents of heavy rains are increasing in a short time. It is repeatedly drought and flooding. The monsoon in India usually comes at the southern end of Kerala around 1 June. It goes back in mid -September.
This monsoon forecast more rain than expected
According to the IMD, normal rainfall means 96 per cent of the rainfall of 87 centimeters in the four -month monsoon season. This average is based on the figures of the last 50 years. Simply put, IMD says that this time the monsoon will be good. Farmers will benefit and the water problem will also be reduced. However, we have to be ready for changes caused by climate change. Rain is never the same, so we have to use water properly.
