All the contract NHM employees of Chhattisgarh are going to be on leave collectively on 15 April. In fact, on this day, on the occasion of completion of 20 years of National Health Mission (NHM) in Chhattisgarh, Late in Bilaspur. A state level conference is being organized in Lakhiram Aggarwal Auditorium. All NHM employees are going to take leave collectively to attend this event.
NHM Employees Union Principal Dr. Amit Miri and State General Secretary Kaushales Tiwari informed that many senior public representatives and officials including Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, former Health and Finance Minister Amar Aggarwal have been invited to this conference.
He said that “This conference is a symbol of solidarity for our rights. All employees will take collective leave and reach Bilaspur and demonstrate their unity.”
20 years of service, still not found basic facilities
NHM employees say that they have been working as the backbone of the state’s health services for the last two decades, yet till date they have not been able to get basic facilities like regularization, grade-pay, pension, compassionate appointment and medical leave.
The responsibility was also played in the Korona period, but the demand remained unheard
The employees reminded that during the Korona epidemic, they served their lives regardless of their lives, but despite this the government did not take any concrete steps on their demands. Through the conference, they want to attract the attention of the government to their pending demands.
NHM: 20 years journey and today’s challenges
The National Health Mission launched by the Government of India on 12 April 2005 has proved to be a milestone in the improvement of rural and urban health facilities today. NHM has played an important role in providing better health services to the general public, but its employees are still struggling for their rights.
