A case of hurting religious goodwill and alleged conversion has come to light in Champa city on Saturday. Tensions increased during a prayer meeting in a three -storey building at BDM Hospital Chowk, Champa. Along with Janjgir, people from other states also attended this meeting. On receiving the information, Bajrang Dal workers reached the spot and informed the police. The police, taking prompt action, arrested four people and registered a case under the relevant sections of BNS.
According to the information, a prayer meeting was held on Saturday in the building of BDM Hospital Chowk. During this time a crowd of women, children and men gradually gathered. Bajrang Dal activists reached the spot and interacted with the people involved in the meeting, where they feared conversion. On giving information to the police, Champa police station in -charge reached the spot and controlled the situation. During the investigation, the police found materials, books and posters related to conversion from the venue. At the same time, there was also a claim to cure diseases in the name of prayer.
In view of the seriousness of the case, the police detained four people and initiated action under sections of spreading religious frenzy and motivating for conversion. The incident occurred on the day of Hanuman Jayanti, when the Hindu community across the country was busy with religious events. Timely action by the police control the atmosphere and the villagers involved in the meeting were sent to their homes.
