Review of efforts to promote tourism in the state

Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai has said that there is immense potential for tourism in Chhattisgarh. Tourism, Forest and Water Resources Department should work by making integrated action plan to set Chhattisgarh on the tourism map of the country. He said that water sports should be promoted in the major dams of forest based tourism, Mahanadi, Indravati rivers in the state. Tourism facilities should be developed in the Shakti Peethas of the state. The Chief Minister instructed to prepare tourism circuit and corridor by including nearby sites in major tourist places. He also instructed the Central Government to prepare new proposals for tourism projects of the state for assistance.
Chief Minister Sai was reviewing the work being done to promote tourism in the state in the ministry Mahanadi Bhavan today. The meeting discussed the possibilities of Eco Tourism, Ethanic Tourism, Adventure Tourism, Wellness Tourism, Heritage Tourism, Wildlife Tourism, Water Sports. The Chief Minister said that major tourist destinations of the state including Bastar, Surguja should be established as brands.
Tour and travel agencies and well-known hotel institutions should be supported
The Chief Minister said in the meeting that a plan should be prepared to develop circuit and cardboard by including major tourist destinations like Kanger Valley National Park, Guru Ghasidas Tamor Pingala National Park, Baranawapara Sanctuary, Tatamari View Point, by including small tourist places located near that area. He said that places of religious importance, historical importance and archaeological and natural importance of the state should be identified as a better destination from the perspective of tourism. He also directed to promote eco -tourism and adventure tourism. The Chief Minister said that to promote tourism in the state, a meeting with tour and travel agencies and well-known hotel institutions should also be searched for the possibilities of increasing tourism in the state.
Water sports will be promoted
Chief Minister Sai said that there is also a lot of potential for the development of water sports activities in the state. Our government has a large number of tourists in Dhamtari for water boating at Gangrel Dam, Mahasamund’s Kodar Dam, Mini Mata Hasdev Bango Dam of Korba, Saroda Dam, Chitrakote in Bastar. Keeping these possibilities in mind, the site should also be identified as water sports in various rivers, dams of the state.
Tourism corridors will be developed in Bastar, Champaran, Madheshwar Mayali, Bhoramdev
The Chief Minister said in the meeting that Chitrakote Falls, Dantewada, Dholkal, Tata in BastarBastar Corridor should be developed by including Tirathgarh, Kutumsargufa, Dhudmas, Tamra Ghoomar, Mahendraghumar Falls in Mari, Barsur, Kanger Valley National Park. It should be branding at the national level. Similarly, a corridor should be made by including Madheshwar Temple, Mayali Lake, Kailash cave in Jashpur district. He came in large numbers of Gujarati tourists in Champaran, the Prakatabhumi of Mahaprabhu Vallabhar, there are also events like marriage. Tourism facilities should be developed and widespread publicity to get it nationally recognized.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of various tourism projects operated in the state under the Swadesh Darshan and Prayad Yojana. The Chief Minister said that under the Swadesh Darshan, an amount of Rs 145 crore has been approved for Bhoramdev Karidor. With this, by connecting religious and natural sites, it is being developed as a better destination than tourism point of view. The Chief Minister said that guidance should be taken from the people of the film world to develop Chitrotpala Film City. Chitrotpala Film City is being made by our government in Nawa Raipur. For this, 95 crore rupees have been approved by the Central Government.
Tourism status to tourism
The Chief Minister said that tourism has been given industry status in the new industrial policy of the state government. A provision for grant for the development of tourism facilities in these areas has also been made, so that tourism infrastructure can be developed with the help of investors. These possibilities should also be exploited by contacting investors at the national level. He said that 2 crore tourists in the state come to tourist places annually. The Chief Minister has given instructions to provide regular employment to the local residents of the tourism sector and also to add people on small cottage industries including home stay. He said that the villagers of tourism areas should also be motivated to promote home stay business.

Srinivasa Rao, Additional Chief Secretary Mrs. Richa Sharma, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Subodh Singh, Secretary of Tourism Department Anbalgan P., Chief Minister’s Secretary Rahul Bhagat, Basavraju S., Industry Department Secretary Rajat Kumar, Water Resources Department Secretary Rajesh Sukumar Toppo and senior officials of the concerned departments were present.
