Panchayat and Rural Development and Labor Minister Shri Prahlad Singh Patel on Thursday gave a message of public awareness towards water conservation by participating in the ‘Jal Ganga Promotion Abhiyan’ at the origin of Kuno River located in village Kanja in Guna district. On this occasion, the girls took out the journey by wearing an urn on the head in traditional costumes. Minister Shri Patel tied up all the girls and touched their feet. After this, he reached the origin of the Kuno River and communicated with the villagers and inquired about the historical significance of this place.
Kalash Pujan and land-worship were done with Vedic chanting at the place of origin. Acharya and students of Aavan Gurukul chanting. Guna MLA Mr. Pannalal Shakya and public representatives and officers were present in the program.
Keep a dedicated approach to plantation
Minister Shri Patel said that rivers have been meeting the water needs of the society for centuries. Highlighting the importance of plantation, he said that we should plant plants which are helpful in maintaining ground water levels. He emphasized three major things for plantation. Selection of appropriate location is to ensure safety and water system by wire fencing of plants. Minister Shri Patel said to Collector Shri Kanyal that, such government land should be selected where plants can flourish safely and one day a huge tree can be made. He assured that all the cooperation required for this work will be made available on his behalf.
Exhibition of women self-help groups got encouragement
Minister Shri Patel visited the exhibition of products manufactured by self-help groups under the Madhya Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission. Products were purchased by the officers and local citizens present on the occasion, which provided economic incentive to the groups. At the end of the program, the performance and utility of the functionality of the fire fighter tanker of the Janpad Panchayat was stated.
