Regarding becoming the Waqf Board Act, PM Narendra Modi said that this will work in the interest of Pasmanda Muslims, women and poor. He said that till now the country came from appeasement politics and we had to bear the brunt of it. PM Modi said that there is no politics of appeasement. Its seed was sown at the time of freedom struggle. Taking part in the Rising Bharat Summit of News18, he said, ‘India was independent with many countries, but whose condition of independence was partition. Why did this happen to India? This is because at that time the power was fascinated above the national interest. Partition was not the job of all Muslims but the work of Congress -backed fundamentalists.
He said that Pasmanda became Muslims and women are also victims of this appeasement politics. The Congress made it a weapon of votebank politics. The amendment made in the Waqf Board in 2013 was the law to please fundamentalists and land mafia. The Waqf law also reduced the constitution. The recently happened that the land mafia were freshly elevated. Claims on the land of Christian community in Kerala, there was a dispute over the land of gurdwaras in Haryana. Apart from this, he also described a case of Karnataka. The temple, church, gurudwara, farm and government land, no one was convinced that their land would remain their own. Just a notice used to come and people started looking for papers of their own house. After all, what was the law that created fear.
Now a great law has been made. It is in the interest of country and Muslim society. This will also protect the sacred spirit of Waqf. Apart from this, the interests of poor, Pasmanda Muslims and their children will be safe. The debate on Waqf was the second longest debate. JPC had 38 meetings before bringing it back to the House. This shows how effective democracy is in India. PM Modi said that the strength of the Waqf Board was so that everyone was scared that when the notice would not come. Not notice that people used to get entangled in a legal battle. That too for the land that was his own. He said that we have done justice by bringing the Waqf Board Act and this will remove all the discrepancies.
