Panchayat and Rural Development and Labor Minister Prahlad Singh Patel said that under the Jalganga Promotion Campaign, make prior efforts to identify traditional water sources and revive them. The MNREGA scheme and gram panchayats have an important role in this campaign. He said that there should be flexibility in the schemes for the gram panchayats growing towards urbanization and the policies should be changed according to the ground reality. Minister Patel on Tuesday addressed the training cum workshop (Orientation Program) of Chief Executive Officers of District Panchayat and District Panchayats in Kushabhau Thackeray Auditorium. Additional Secretary Dinesh Jain, CEO SRLM Smt Harshika Singh, CEO RRDA Deepak Arya, Commissioner MNREGA Avi Prasad and District Panchayat CEO and Janpad Panchayat CEO were present on the occasion.

Minister Patel said that special efforts should be made to conserve the origin of water sources and rivers. He said that conservation of these sources is necessary for future generations. All district level officers should do special work in this direction. He informed that work is being done in Narsinghpur district by campaigning for cleaning the banks of Maa Narmada. Similarly, at the district level, he made special efforts to clean the coasts with rivers. He said that study of geographical challenges of water conservation is also necessary. He said that the village and district panchayats near the metros will be developed on the semi -urban model.

Pay attention to the protection of those plants along with plantation

Minister Patel said that the good results of the orientation program organized in the past came in the form of dialogue. He said that he should come with his full preparation in the training and workshop. We do good work for the development of our area. He said that while contemplating the actual status of development works at the panchayat and district level, all the officials should be self -assessed whether they are satisfied with their works and have been able to bring positive changes in the society. Minister Patel said that the success of any scheme is not possible alone, but only through team spirit, cooperation and sustainable dialogue. He said that all the officers should inform us about the grassroots challenges, so that action plans can be made keeping in mind those challenges. In campaigns such as plantation, it is also necessary to not plant saplings, but also the responsibility of their care and survival, especially the plants of local species near water sources should be given priority.

In the Orientation Program, information about the major objectives and goals marked in the Jal Ganga Promotion Campaign under MNREGA was given. The field evaluation, marking the major sets of tasks, and making the action plan facilitated using the SIPRI tool covering the impact measuring were discussed in detail. Information about the technical aspects of Amrit Sarovar, Khet Pond, recharge of dug wells was given. In the program, information about the MP-SRLM, Panchayat Raj, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin, Swachh Bharat Mission, Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana and roll out information was shared.
