There were protests in support of Gaza in various cities including Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka. Violence took place in many places during this period. The police have arrested 49 people in cases of violence.
49 people arrested so far in connection with the incident
The press department of the interim government said in a statement on Tuesday, ‘So far 49 people have been arrested in relation to these incidents. The police took quick action and two cases have been registered. Further investigation is going on and those responsible for these condemnable acts will be brought under the purview of justice.
In various cities of Bangladesh on Monday, these demonstrations were organized under a global campaign to oppose the cruel attacks on Palestinians in Gaza. The students took part in the demonstrations by boycotting classes and examinations. The organizers of the demonstrations had called upon the people to boycott Israeli goods.
