A Mumbai court has re -released a bailable warrant against actress Malaika Arora, as she has failed to appear as a witness in a case related to an alleged attack by Saif Ali Khan on an NRI businessman at a five -star hotel in 2012. Arora was part of the group who went to dinner at the hotel with Khan at the time of the alleged incident on 22 February 2012.
The court first issued a bailable warrant against Arora on 15 February. A warrant was issued again on Monday as she did not appear in court. The next hearing of the case will be on 29 April. Saif Ali Khan and two other accused were arrested following a complaint by businessman Iqbal Mir Sharma. The three were later released on bail. When the quarrel took place, the actor was accompanied by his wife Kareena Kapoor, his sister Karishma Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Amrita Arora and some male friends.
According to the police, when Sharma opposed the sharp nose of the actor and his friends, Saif allegedly threatened him and later punched Sharma’s nose, which broke his nose. The NRI businessman also accused Saif and his friends of beating their father -in -law Raman Patel. On the other hand, Saif has claimed that Sharma made inflammatory statements and used abusive language against the women with him, causing uproar. Saif and his two friends – Shakeel Ladak and Bilal Amrohi – have been filed under Section 325 (attack) of the Indian Penal Code.
Earlier, Malaika Arora’s sister and actress Amrita Arora had testified in the court. He said that the hotel had provided a separate place to his group and those people were spending quality time there, then suddenly the complainant came there and started shouting and started abusing. He had said- The man started abusing us and started threatening us to suffer terrible consequences.
