Attack on the bike rally of Gross Hindu society
Police officials said the rally started from Sarveshwar Temple in Chikhaldongri on the occasion of Ram Navami and was going to Pimpleshwar Temple in Global City, Virar (West), when the incident happened.
The procession consisted of about 100 to 150 motorcycles, a chariot and two tempo, in which the locals participated in large numbers.
When the people involved in the rally reached near the Pimpleshwar temple, some motorcycle riders were going from side street, when eggs were allegedly thrown from a nearby building. This provoked anger among the devotees and created a tense atmosphere in the area. After receiving the information, the personnel of Bolinj police station went to the spot and controlled the situation. The police have registered a case under the sections of the Indian Justice Code to hurt public disturbances and religious sentiments and increased vigilance in the area.
Case of attack in Kolkata too, BJP erupted
Earlier in Kolkata, West Bengal, people returning to participate in the procession have been accused of attacks in Muslim -dominated areas. BJP MP and state BJP president Sukant Majumdar made the charge. Majumdar has also released a video of this on his social media. At the same time, the police say that there has been no incident of attack on people returning from the procession. On the contrary, the police alleged that some people tried to take out the procession without permission.
