However, the minimum night temperature fell by 1.2 degrees to 20 degrees. The Meteorological Department has predicted the state’s temperature to reach 43 degrees in the next 48 hours. Dry hot winds coming from Rajasthan and sharp solar radiation are expected to increase heat.

In the last 24 hours, the highest temperature in the state recorded 42.6 degrees Celsius in Ratlam. Apart from this, 42.2 degrees in Narmadapuram, 42 degrees in Khajuraho, Guna and 41 degrees in Ujjain and 40.5 degrees in Bhopal. In Gwalior, Chambal, Sagar and Rewa divisions, mercury may be 43-45 degrees while Indore, Ujjain-Bhopal can have 41 to 44 degrees Celsius in the rest of the state.
