Opposition to the Waqf Bill that is sitting on crores of lands of crores; Rang Rijizu

New Delhi

Waqf bill amendment is to be introduced in the current budget session of Parliament. It is believed that the central government can present it in the Lok Sabha on 2 April. Earlier, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister and Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has taken a dig at those who opposed the Waqf Bill and said that the bills are opposing the same people who are sitting on the assets of crores of Waqf. In a conversation with ANI, Rijiju said that the people opposing it are powerful and they are misleading the innocent people.

He said that it is everyone’s right to criticize the bill, but there should be some essence of that criticism. Rijiju said, “Who are those people who are opposing this bill? There are some powerful people who have encroached on Waqf properties. They are misleading people. They are saying that the bill is unconstitutional. Criticism is the right of everyone, but there should be some essence in criticism.”

Regarding the letter of supporting the Waqf Amendment Bill by Kerala Catholic Bishop Council (KCBC) and requesting the state MPs to do the same, Rijiju said that many organizations are supporting this bill proposed by the Central Government on religious grounds. He insisted that the Waqf Amendment Bill is in the interest of poor Muslims, children and women. He said that this will ensure accountability and transparency in the case of management of assets under the Waqf Board.
Kerala bishops support Waqf

Rijiju said, “Request letters sent by Kerala Catholic Bishop Council are extremely important for all. Many organizations of various communities are supporting the Waqf (Amendment) Bill.

Kerala BJP President Rajiv Chandrashekhar said on Monday that several Christian organizations, including Kerala Catholic Bishop Council (KCBC), are supporting the Waqf Amendment Bill proposed by the Center, as poor families in Munambam suburb have claimed that they are living in danger of seizing their land by Waqf Board. He urged state MPs to help people instead of being involved in “politics of appeasement”.
Hundreds of poor are harassing Waqf

Chandrashekhar also said, “Kerala Catholic Bishop Council and many other Christian organizations are asking Kerala MPs to take their stand on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill and vote in its favor as in Kerala, in Kerala, at a place called Munambam near Cochin, hundreds of poor families are threatened to confiscate their land by Waqf.” Highlighting the agitation against the danger of seizure of land seizing, the BJP leader urged Kerala MPs to fulfill their duties of helping people trapped in trouble instead of being involved in “appeasement politics”.
Congress MP should decide in public interest: Chandrashekhar

He said, “This is an issue for which they have been agitating for months and years and now the time has come that the MPs of Kerala should perform their duty, which is to help people in trouble, help people and solve their problems, not only to do politics of appeasement. Today is an important day. Today is an important day. It is about connecting the law with constitutional values. ”
