Water Ganga Promotion Campaign is starting from today for the conservation and revival of the water sources, river, ponds, wells, stepwells of the urban bodies of the state. In this campaign, more and more public participation efforts are being made by the urban bodies. In this regard, the Urban Administration and Development Directorate has also issued guidelines to the Municipal Corporation, Municipal Council and Municipal Council. Under the Amrit-2.0 scheme of the Central Government by the urban bodies, the work of upgrading water structures is also being done in the present. The state level program of water Ganga enrichment campaign is being done on the banks of the river Kshipra on the day of Pratipada on 30 March, 2025 years. On this day, a work of water conservation and promotion will be started in the presence of public representatives in the presence of public community in urban bodies of other districts.
Urban Development Minister Shri Vijayvargiya’s appeal
Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya has appealed to the public representatives of urban bodies to ensure the participation of more and more citizens in the water Ganga enrichment campaign which runs from March 30 to June 30. Minister Shri Vijayvargiya has said that the responsibility of conservation of water sources is with the government as well as every citizen. He has made a special request to women public representatives to ensure the participation of women in this campaign. Minister Shri Vijayvargiya said that lack of funds in water conservation works will not be allowed to come in the way.
Organizes will be held on special days during the campaign
During the Jal Ganga Promotion Campaign, Ganga Dussehra will be a musical presentation of a famous folk artist in urban bodies on 5 June. On the occasion of Butt Savitri Purnima, plantation work will also be done around water structures. On this day, the oath of nature and plantation will be administered by the mother power introducing the benefits of trees. Vikramotsav-2025 will conclude the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan on 30 June.
The instructions issued to the urban bodies stated that dirty water drains found in water structures should be treated after diversion through the Liquid Best Management Project under Swachh Bharat Mission-2.0 and released into water structures. For drinking water facility, arrangements should be made at the main places of the city. The night-warder horror system should be installed in the colony of the urban area. Arrangements should be made to improve leakage to prevent wastage of water being used in homes and public places. Urban bodies have also been asked to make green area along with the above instructions. The soil released during deepening of water structures has been asked to be given to the farmers. Instructions have been given to each urban body to prepare Jaldoot, Jal Mitra and Amrit Mitra. My Bharat Portal will be used by urban bodies for monitoring the program.
