Amit Shah said- The situation in Manipur is now quite peaceful compared to before, not for the first time ethnic violence

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that the situation in Manipur is now quite peaceful compared to before and the government is discussing with Meeti and Cookie communities to establish permanent peace. Shah also said that President’s rule has been imposed at the appropriate time to restore normal conditions in Manipur.

In the Union Home Minister Summit, 2025 “, the situation is relatively peaceful. The normal life has started again. The Ministry of Home Affairs has held separate meetings with the two communities. The two communities have also talked to each other. Gradually things are moving in a positive direction. Now there is nothing to worry.”

The Home Minister said that this is not the first time ethnic violence is taking place in the state. He said that such violence has taken place in the state earlier and it has lasted for three to four years. Asked if there is a delay in implementing central governance in Manipur, Shah said that it is easy to sit away and comment. He said, “Unless the two communities accept it, President’s rule cannot succeed. When it was a proper time, we implemented it.”

What did Shah say about Jammu and Kashmir

Amit Shah said that Jammu and Kashmir will be given full state status as promised, but in this way time cannot be announced on the public platform. When asked about the deadline for restoring the status of the state, he said, “We have assured that the status of the state will be restored. But on the public platform it cannot be told when it will be given.”

When Article 370 was canceled in 2019 and the state of Jammu and Kashmir was divided into two union territories, Shah said in Parliament that the state status of Jammu and Kashmir would be restored at the right time. He said, “This was the first election in Kashmir after 40 years in which there was no re -assignment at any place. Not a single tear gas or bullet was fired. 60 percent of the people exercised their franchise, this is a big change.”
