Forest and Climate Reflection Minister Kedar Kashyap said that the state is developing under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai. He said that our government is doing better work towards preserving and promoting the culture of Bastar with the tribal culture and folk traditions of the state, which has given a new identity to the folk culture of Bastar in the country and the world. Minister Shri Kashyap expressed his views of this effect while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the ‘Bastar Pandum’ competition in district Kondagaon. In this event, folk artists from the five development blocks of the district made the tribal culture alive with their brilliant performances. At the same time, a grand exhibition of tribal cuisine, gratitude, costumes and craftsmanship remains the center of attraction among the people.
Forest Minister Kashyap said that Bastar’s lifestyle is a unique identity tribal song-music, dance and food. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, efforts are being made to preserve this extinct folk culture through ‘Bastar Pandum’. He said that due to the policies of the central and state government, Chhattisgarh is moving towards liberation from Naxalism, which will open new doors of development and the rich culture of Bastar will be recognized in the country and the world.
He said that nutritious grains like Kodo, Kutki and Ragi of Bastar are now being adopted at the national level. He expressed confidence that ‘Bastar Pandum’ would give the new generation an opportunity to understand and adopt its rich culture.
Collector Shri Kunal Dudawat informed that the winners of eight genres elected at the development block level have attended the district level event. The selected participants from here will participate in the division level competition. He said that this initiative of the state government is giving a new identity to the culture of Bastar.
