Only one small part of our total water is available in the form of potable clean water. About 97 percent of the total water of the Earth is salty water in the oceans, which is not potable. The remaining 3 percent is sweet water, but most of them are stored in icebergs and ice peaks. Less than 0.5 percent of water is available in the form of lakes, rivers and groundwater, which we can use. The amount of clean and potable water on the earth is very limited and it is very important to preserve it. That is why the Madhya Pradesh government has taken steps to save water.
