Construction of middle and weaker sections housing priority of Housing Board: Minister Vijayvargiya

Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya has instructed the officials of Madhya Pradesh Housing Board to give priority to meet the needs of middle and weaker sections of the board society. He said that the board should further strengthen its credibility among the general public with the quality of its works. He said that the board should review each of its projects intensively and it should be completed in a fixed time frame. Minister Shri Vijayvargiya was reviewing the meeting of Madhya Pradesh House Construction and Infrastructure Development Board in Bhopal today. Additional Chief Secretary Urban Development and Housing Mr. Sanjay Shukla was also present in the meeting. The board will be reviewed again by Minister Shri Vijayvargiya in the next 2 months.

Minister Shri Vijayvargiya said that when the commercial campus of the board is completed on time, economic activities will increase in the area and the youth will get employment. He said that there is a delay between various agencies in the board’s plans, concrete efforts will be made by them. Minister Shri Vijayvargiya said that mechanisms should be prepared for the residential and commercial complexes that the board develops, in future they should be well maintained. He said that the complexes which should be developed by the board, should be named after the great personalities. Minister Shri Vijayvargiya said that it should be taken care of to be a commercial tower iconic to be built in the Hukumchand mill premises of Indore. It was informed in the meeting that the Housing Board has sold assets worth Rs 815 crore in the last 5 years. So far, more than 3 lakh 50 thousand housing units have been developed by the Housing Board in the state. The meeting reviewed the residential, Atal shelter, re-densification, re-decorations and Su-Raj schemes. Work is going on on 106 schemes of restoration in the state, which costs around Rs 5 thousand 770 crore.

Additional Chief Secretary Shri Sanjay Shukla informed that efforts are being made to recruit vacant posts through various agencies to increase the work capacity of the Housing Board. He said that special attention is being paid to plantation to keep the board premises green. Additional Chief Secretary informed that a proposal is being prepared to seek the cooperation of the private agency to strengthen the market’s marketing system.
