Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that Swatantra Veer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar was India’s great revolutionary, freedom fighter, thinker, social reformer, historian, poet, vigilant speaker and visionary politician. He became popular with his work as Veer Savarkar. His personality and work will be transported to the people.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav on Monday unveiled the statue of Veera Vinayak Damodar Savarkar in Pragati Nagar, Indore. Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silavat, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava, MLA Madhu Verma, Ramesh Mendola, Golu Shukla, Veer Savarkar’s grandson Ranjit Savarkar, Baba Saheb Nawathe, Sumit Mishra, Shravan Chavda and other public representatives were present on the occasion.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the remembrance of Veer Savarkar gives a feeling of thrill. He played an important role in providing freedom to the country by enduring many sufferings and harassment. His life is an ideal. Even after getting the most difficult punishment like Kalapani, he did not back down from his goal. He said that there is a need to understand the history of Veer Savarkar correctly. Our goal is to bring their history to the people in the right form. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the place which is established in the name of the great man should be known and recognized by his name. For this, their names should also be used in government correspondence and other works including putting notice boards.
Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava said that the statue of Veer Savarkar has been constructed with public support at Pragati Nagar Zone Office of Rajendra Nagar area of Indore. The base of the idol has been prepared in the form of books written by Veer Savarkar.
