Inspector BM Chaudhary of Vedach police station in Bharuch district said that the accused, including the woman’s family members, used bulldozers on suspicion of driving the woman away. He decided to remove his anger in this way. The woman’s husband is also among the accused. He suspects that a person from another community has run away with his wife. Police said the incident took place on March 21 in Kareli village in the district.
The official said that on the night of March 21, the accused merged six houses of the Phulmali community into the rubble from the bulldozer, including the person’s house who is suspected to run away with the woman. The police then registered an FIR against six people, including the bulldozer driver. Chaudhary said that all the accused have been arrested. Chaudhary said that the woman went to meet her parents in Anklav taluka in Anand district. Where the woman and the person allegedly fled.
The police officer said that the woman’s parents have lodged a complaint and the Anand police is investigating the case. According to the complaint, the accused person, including Hemant Padhiyar, Sunil Padhiyar, Balwant Padhiyar, Soham Padhiyar and Chirag Padhiyar, went to the house of the accused person and accused his family members of running away with the woman and asked him to present it within two days. On March 21, at around 9 pm, the accused went to the person’s house with a bulldozer and started demolishing parts of the house including sheds and toilets. According to the FIR, he dropped parts of six houses in the area. Chaudhary said that the next day the mother of the person lodged a complaint at Vedach police station, after which six people were arrested.
