18 identified among the slain Maoists, rewarded 93 lakhs

A total of 26 uniformed Maoists, including 14 women Maoists, were killed in an encounter on Thursday in the forests of Gangalur police station area of ​​Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. Rajuram Oyam, a constable of DRG Bijapur, also died in this encounter. After the encounter, a large amount of weapons, explosives and Maoist materials were recovered from the spot. Today, the soldiers reached the district headquarters of Bijapur with the dead body of Naxalites. 18 Maoists killed have been identified, a reward of Rs 93 lakh was declared on all of them. The remaining killed Maoists are being identified.

Superintendent of Police Bijapur Dr. Jitendra Kumar Yadav said that on the basis of intelligence information, the presence of the presence of Koy 2, Platoon No. 13 of West Bastar Division and Armed Maoists of Darbha Division was reported. After this, a joint team of Bijapur DRG, Bastar Fighters, STF, Sukma DRG, Cobra and CRPF started anti -Naxal operations. On March 20, at around 7 am, an encounter with the Maoists started in the Underground forest, which lasted intermittently till evening.

Identification of Maoists killed
The initial identification of 18 of the 26 Maoists killed in the encounter has been identified, while the remaining identity continues. The dead include DVCM (Divisional Committee Member) Sito Kadati (reward of 8 lakh), five ACM (Area Committee Members) and three PPCM (Platoon Party Committee Member). Apart from this, nine PLGA (People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army) Platoon Members were also killed, each of which had a reward of Rs 5 lakh.

Recovered weapons and materials
A large quantity of weapons and explosives were recovered from the scene including AK-47, sniper SLR, INSAS rifle, 303 rifle, rocket launcher, BGL launcher. Along with this, Maoist uniforms, literature, medicines, batteries, radio and daily use material were also seized.

DRG jawan Rajuram Oyam Veeragati received in the encounter. His body was brought to the district headquarters Bijapur, where he was paid tribute to him at Shaheed Vatika on the new police line at 10 am on 21 March.

97 Maoist piles in 80 days
Inspector General of Police Bastar Range Sundararaj P. said that security forces are working with strong morale for peace and development in Bastar region. In the first 80 days of this year, 97 hardcore Maoists have been killed in Bastar division, out of which 82 are from Bijapur district. He appealed to the Maoists to surrender the path of violence and surrender and take advantage of the Chhattisgarh government’s rehabilitation policy.

Increasing internal discord in Maoist organization
Officials said that mutual mistrust and discord in the Maoist organization is increasing, due to which members are also killing each other. The influence of Maoists is decreasing due to frequent campaigns and development works of security forces in the area.
