China will strengthen rare mineral reserves, electric vehicles and defense sector found under earth in Yunnan

Beijing
A large reserves of rare mineral elements (rare meanings) have been found in China. It is considered to be the biggest reserves of moderate and heavy minerals found in China. This will help China in the production of electric vehicles and minerals required for defense sector. In January, information about this discovery was revealed for the first time. After this, the Geological Survey of China (CGS) has now confirmed this store while investigating this. This discovery has been done in Yunnan province of China. This province is full of minerals. There are large reserves of aluminum, zinc and tin.

According to CGS, this reserves may have resources up to 1.15 million tonnes. 470,000 tonnes of minerals can be extracted from them. It also includes the major rare elements presion, neodimium, dysproosium and terbium. These minerals are quite expensive and they are in great demand globally. It was obvious that this will increase the dominance of China in many areas.

China will benefit big

Chinese media says that this discovery is a major success in mineral exploration. Rare Earth minerals are naturally accumulated in such reserves and are absorbed on the soil surface. This makes it easier to remove them from the ground in environmentally friendly ways like ‘ion exchange’. Earlier, such a last discovery took place in 1969 in Jiangshi province of East China.

According to CGS experts, this new reserves mainly have middle and heavy rare earth minerals. All these are raw materials required for electric vehicles, renewal energy and defense safety equipment. China has received this huge rare reserves after the recently established National Bhurasian Baseline Network. This network is to prepare extensive data and improve mineral exploration techniques.

Experts say that China’s discovery will further strengthen the world in the field of rare earth mining, where it already dominates. The major strength of Asia has about 60 per cent of rare earth production and 85 per cent of processing control. By the year 2023, China’s total mining production was 240,000 tonnes, which is six times the world’s most powerful country than the US.
