Online fraud cases are increasing rapidly. Cyber ​​criminals are losing users in new ways. The scams from the QR code are also among them. Considering the danger of this scam, Cert-in (Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology) has shared some necessary safety tips with its official X account. By following these safety tips, you can protect yourself from frauds through the QR code. CERT-in has shared a poster from the X account, which mentions things to keep in mind while scanning the QR code.

In the shared poster, CERT-in said that using the scam fake QR code, users redirect on the Malisius website or ask to install the fake app, so that they get an access of sensitive information with username, password. To avoid this scam, you should keep these things in mind:

1- While scanning any QR code, it must be confirmed that it belongs to the reliable source.

2- While scanning the QR code, keep in mind that it is not redirect to you on any short URL.

3- Beware of the QR code in public places. Often fraudsters paste fake QR in posters in public places, which will redirect the Malisius website when scanned.
