A special seminar is being organized by the Constitution and Parliamentary Studies Institute (ICPS) on 20 March 2025 at Parliament Library Building (PLB) located at Parliament House campus. This program will focus on “women, constitution and law: representation, rights and reforms”, in which there will be a detailed discussion on the constitutional and legal rights of women in Indian society.
This prestigious event will include BJYM National Executive Member and Barkhedi Abdullah Panchayat of Bhopal as Sarpanch Bhakti Sharma (Bhakti Sharma) speaker. She will give a show address about the power of women in Parliament Premieses. Bhakti Sharma has been among the 100 strong women of the country. He represented the Indian Panchayat system in the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) while working as a sarpanch. She has also made her effective presence on global forums like Raisina Dialogue.
Women officers, brave women, women industrialists, women sarpanches, academics, journalists and representatives of civil society will participate in the program. Its purpose is to brainstorm the necessary reforms to strengthen the constitutional contribution, government representation and their rights.
This seminar will have a detailed discussion about women’s growing participation in democratic institutions, legal reforms related to their rights and their role in policy making. The program will begin at 11:00 am and will run till 4:00 pm.
The event is considered an important effort towards increasing awareness about women’s rights and taking concrete steps for their empowerment.
