Often the opening ceremony is held before the first match of any season of IPL, but this time the plan of the Board of Control for Cricket in India is somewhat different. The IPL is going to be 18 years and on this occasion, the BCCI will not only conduct the opening ceremony before the first match of IPL 2025, but in this season of IPL, the stadium in which the first match will be held, the opening ceremony will be held before that first match.
The BCCI will organize special ceremonies at all 13 places to commemorate the 18 -year conclusion of the world’s leading franchise tournament. Celebration of IPL 2025 will continue throughout the session, in which the first match at each stadium will start with a cultural program, in which prominent artists will perform.
A source aware of this development told Sportstar, “We wanted to enjoy more colors in the tournament, so that everywhere the audience could enjoy the opening ceremony. We are planning to create a line-up of national and local artists for cultural programs everywhere.”
IPL 2025 will start with Kolkata Knight Riders Verses Royal Challengers Bangalore. The match will be played on 22 March at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata. An opening ceremony will be held before the match. This has been confirmed by Snehashish Ganguly, Chairman of Cricket Association of Bengal i.e. CAB. He has said that the demand for tickets for this match is very high and after a long time there will be an opening ceremony of IPL in Kolkata.
There will be a 35 -minute spectacular opening ceremony before the KKR vs RCB match, which is likely to perform famous singer Shreya Ghoshal and actress Disha Patani. ICC chairman Jai Shah and other dignitaries are also expected to attend the event. Snehashish refused to give detailed information about the inauguration ceremony, saying, “This is a big match, for which the demand for tickets is very high. The opening ceremony is being held after a long time at the Eden Gardens.”
