New replacement rules of IPL 2025
Season-ending injury or disease: If a player gets hurt or disease that he cannot play the entire season, the team can replace him.
Facility of change by 12 league matches: As per 2025 rules, players can be replaced during the first 12 league matches. Earlier this limit was only till the 7th match.
Registered Angry Player Pool (RApp): Only those players can be included in the team as a replacement, who join BCCI’s registered available player pool (RApp).
Salary Seema: The salary of the replacement player cannot be more than the player who is being included in the team.
Salary cap and contract rules
The team does not have an impact on salary cap: According to BCCI rules, replacement players’ fees do not join the salary cap of the current season. Contract for the future: If the team increases the replacement player’s contract for the next season, his fees will be added to the team’s total salary cap.
