The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has approved the re -inclusion of boxing in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games. Welcoming this decision, Boris Van Der Worst, president of world boxing, said that this is a very important decision for Olympic boxing and has strengthened the restoration of boxing in the Olympic Games. Would like to say that due to the ongoing concerns about the then International Federation, boxing was not included in the initial sports program of the 2028 Los Angeles Games approved by the International Olympic Committee Session in February 2022.
Last year, the National Boxing Federations were asked to form a consensus about a new international federation.
